Amalan ini memang baik kerana dapat mengeratkan silaturrahin antara masyarakat yang saling bergotong –royong, dan menggalakkan kita bersedekah. Sebenarnya terdapat pelbagai peristiwa penting yang berlaku pada 10 Muharram. Kita disunat melakukan beberapa perkara di hari ini antaranya ialah :
2. Memuliakan fakir miskin - Allah akan lapangkan kuburnya nanti.
3. Menahan marah - Allah akan masukkannya ke dalam golongan redha.
4. Menunjukkan jalan kepada orang yang sedang sesat - Allah akan penuhkan cahaya iman dalam hatinya.
5. Usap kepala anak yatim - Allah akan kurniakan sepohon pokok di syurga bagi tiap-tiap rambut yang diusapnya.
6. Bersedekah - Allah akan jauhkannya dari api neraka dengan kadar jauh seekor burung gagak terbang tanpa henti dari kecil hingga ia mati. Dan diberi pahala seperti sedekah kepada semua fakir miskin di dunia ini.
7. Pelihara kehormatan diri - Allah akan terangi cahaya keimanannya.
8. Mandi sunat - Allah akan lindunginya dari sakit-sakit yang berat tahun ini. Niatnya begini, “Sahaja aku mandi sunat pada hari As-syura kerana Allah ta’ala.”
9. Bercelak - Allah akan lindunginya dari sakit mata tahun ini.
10.Baca surah Al-Ikhlas 1000 kali - Allah akan pandangnya dengan rahmat di akhirat nanti.
11.Solat sunat 4 rakaat - Allah akan ampunkan dosanya walau telah berlarutan selama 50 tahun. Niatnya begini: “Sahaja aku solat sunat hari As-syura 4 rakaat kerana Allah ta’ala.” Rakaat pertama dan kedua baca surah Al-Ikhlas 11 kali.
12.Menjamu orang berbuka puasa - Allah akan beri pahala seperti memberi sekalian orang Islam berbuka puasa.

2. Nabi Idris diangkat Allah ke langit.
3. Nabi Nuh diselamatkan Allah keluar dari bahteranya sesudah bumi ditenggelamkan selama enam bulan.
4. Nabi Ibrahim diselamatkan Allah daripada dibakar Raja Namrud.
5. Allah menurunkan kitab Taurat kepada Nabi Musa.
6. Nabi Yusuf dibebaskan dari penjara
7. Allah memulihkan penglihatan Nabi Yaakob.
8. Nabi Isa diangkat ke langit.
9. Nabi Ayub dipulihkan Allah daripada penyakit kulitnya
10. Nabi Yunus selamat keluar dari perut ikan nun, selepas berada di dalamnya selama 40 hari 40 malam.
11. Laut Merah terbelah dua untuk menyelamatkan Nabi Musa dan pengikutnya daripada tentera Firaun.
12. Allah mengampunkan kesalahan Nabi Daud.
13. Nabi Sulaiman dikurniakan Allah kerajaan yang besar.
